Garden Bounty

The garden has been occupying my (Johanna) mornings, days, and evenings lately.  So thankful for the bounty our land is producing however.  Yesterday I harvested 25 cabbages and a bushel of potatoes--and that was only 1/8 of each of those harvests.

Kale and broccoli plants

Since I took this picture the grass has been tilled for pumpkins and sweet potatoes.

More of my beautiful cabbage plants.

More kale....I am so over-run with kale!  If any local friends would like some, come on over.

Potato plants....BEAUTIFUL.

Pea plants, we harvested the last ones this week.  :(

  1. Beautiful! I hope you're making lots'o kraut with all that cabbage. Another fav of mine is to quarter it, slather in butter, wrap in foil and put on the grill for 25-30 minutes. You won't believe how good it is until you taste it.

  2. I'm obsessed with kale. Wish we were a tad closer. It's become my favorite vegetable. I love it on top of homemade pizza. Just layer it on top of the cheese spritz with oil and salt it. It gets so crunchy and just makes the pizza.
